LaunchNW College Navigator Program

Navigators work closely with students and campus partners to support the transition into education beyond high school.

The LaunchNW College Navigator Program provides comprehensive guidance and support for students pursuing regional colleges or universities, apprenticeships, and/or trade programs after high school. College Navigators connect students with direct services and support as they transition to and navigate education after high school.

What do College Navigators do?

Navigators work closely with students and campus faculty and staff to:

  • Build personalized campus engagement plans
  • Foster meaningful connections within the campus community
  • Help students make informed decisions about their career paths
  • Connect students to relevant resources, opportunities, and mentorship

Navigators play a key role in helping students align their education with their long-term goals and navigate a successful journey through postsecondary education to meaningful employment and the opportunity to thrive.

How are students connected to a College Navigator?

Recipients of the LaunchNW Promise Scholarship are guaranteed to be connected with a College Navigator if they attend one of our six Eastern Washington higher education institutions or registered apprenticeships or technical programs.

Students can be referred to the College Navigator Program as early as senior year by a high school administrator from any rural school district within the 10 counties in Eastern Washington served by LaunchNW. These counties include Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, Lincoln, Spokane, Adams, Whitman, Columbia, Garfield, and Asotin.

Higher education institutions can refer students in need of ongoing support from a College Navigator.

Program Priority

Program priority will be given to first-generation college students, and/or students who have a yearly family income at or below 150% of Washington State median family income levels.

While we strive to serve as many students as possible, program capacity is limited and not all students who are referred will be assigned a Navigator.
