Our Work

Our Work2025-10-06T15:27:18-07:00

We create unprecedented improvements in our community.

‘Collective impact’ serves as the guiding principle of our work. It is the collaborative process of combining the knowledge and efforts of separate community groups toward a common goal. Collectively, we create systemic change by implementing programs and collecting data to evaluate our progress along the way.

Connecting students to post-high school education without barriers

Improving mental health and student engagement

Creating opportunities for mentoring and community involvement

“Serving as the LaunchNW Youth Council Chair has grown me in ways I wouldn’t have known possible. It’s inspired me to take risks, aim for new heights and expanded my love for my community. Most importantly, I’ve learnt that the future of our communities is in our hands and we are more than capable of positively impacting the world around us.”

Nikita Habimana, Youth Council Chair

I truly want to say thank you for impacting me way more than I could have ever imagined.

Alyna Rose, LaunchNW Promise Scholar and Mpower Peer Mentor

I imagine this program being a kind of cumulative experience that kids take with them throughout and beyond all their school years.

Wilson Faust, Engagement Navigator at River City Youth

FAFSA wasn’t this big daunting task. It was simple, it was easy, and it has just made all the difference.

Ella Tobaben, former Riverside High School student and current student at Washington State University

The Mpower Mentoring Program designed by LaunchNW supports our mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

Deb Raub, Executive Director of Communities in Schools of Northeast Washington
I love the program. It’s been really helpful. I wish I could have started earlier in my school career. It showed that people care about me and my progress.
MPower Mentee

As a senior you can be really isolated from kids in other grades and what is going on in their lives. I liked the connection and the feeling of community. It helps build a feeling that this school is about helping students be the best they can be.

How is LaunchNW funded?2025-09-11T16:52:16-07:00

There are two parts to LaunchNW funding: (1) the LaunchNW Promise Scholarships and (2) implementation. Scholarship funding is raised by public and private donors, businesses and other regional partners into a scholarship fund held at Innovia Foundation.

Implementation dollars are secured separately and already include investments from sources like the American Rescue Plan Act funding from Spokane County, City of Spokane Valley and City of Spokane, funding from the Washington Student Achievement Council, and funding from the Ballmer Group.

If you would like to make a life-changing donation today, you can contribute to the endowed scholarship fund hosted at Innovia Foundation here.
