Our Third Cohort

We are excited to award our third cohort of LaunchNW Promise Scholars in 2026. Select seniors at 20 participating high schools may apply.

Scholarship FAQs

This year’s scholarships are available to select seniors graduating from twenty local high schools, along with senior students residing at Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington properties. Scholarship funds are available for students whose annual household income is at or below 150% of Washington State median family income levels.
Students from the following high schools become eligible for the scholarship by participating in the Mpower Mentoring Program during their senior year:
  • Central Valley High School
  • Cheney High School
  • Deer Park High School
  • East Valley High School
  • Lakeside High School
  • Liberty High School
  • Medical Lake High School
  • Mt. Spokane High School
  • North Central High School
  • Riverside High School
  • Shadle Park High School
  • University High School
  • West Valley High School
In addition, select students participating in LaunchNW-partnered mentorship programs at these high schools will have an opportunity to apply.

The LaunchNW Promise Scholarship helps to fill the gap between a student’s existing financial aid and the cost of attendance at regional post-high school education programs, including two- and four-year degree programs, technical training, and registered apprenticeships.

For families making up to $85,000 yearly, this scholarship may be used for funding beyond tuition costs. For families making above $85,000 yearly, this scholarship may only be used for tuition costs.

The LaunchNW Scholarship is only able to be used at the following colleges/universities:
  • Eastern Washington University
  • Washington State University
  • Gonzaga University
  • Whitworth University
  • Spokane Community College
  • Spokane Falls Community College
  • Walla Walla University
  • Whitman College
  • Lewis Clark State College (for Dayton and Pomeroy students only)
*Registered local apprenticeship and certificate programs may also be eligible for funding. Please reach out to us if you are uncertain if your chosen program meets eligibility requirements.

LaunchNW Promise Scholarship awards will vary by a student’s family income level and financial need.

For families making up to $85,000 yearly, the maximum award is currently $2500 yearly for four academic years to be used towards costs of attendance.

For families making $85,000 –150% of Washington State median family income levels yearly, the maximum award is currently $2,500 yearly for four academic years to be used only for tuition.

*Actual award amounts are determined using information from the student’s FAFSA Submission Summary and financial aid package offered by their college or university.

Yes. Students are required to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) to apply for the LaunchNW Promise Scholarship.
